Description
Part of the RHS Parts for Pollinators collection, these stunning Crocus ‘Fuscotinctus’ flowers will attract bees and other large pollinators to the garden.
Blooming early in February and March, these bulbs will grow fragrant, golden-yellow, golden-shaped flowers with a bronze base and purple markings. Growing above their slender, strap-shaped leaves, these flowers will reach a height of around 8cm.
Perfect for naturalising in a sunny border or lawn, they are also able to be used in pots and window boxes, where you will be better able to take advantage of their sweet-smelling blooms.
Plant these ‘Fuscotinctus’ bulbs approximately 5cm deep and 5cm apart. Crocus will grow in a wide range of soils provided there is good drainage. They like sunshine but the flowers will last longer in partial shade.
When planting, place wire netting just under the soil surface to prevent mice or squirrels eating the corms.
