Description
Very hardy dwarf variety that crops well even in exposed situations. May be autumn sown.
Outdoors, October-November or January-March where they are to crop, in flat drills 15cm (6″) wide and 5cm (2″) deep, in well-cultivated, fertile soil. Sow in a zig-zag fashion along the drill, allowing 5cm (2″) between seeds. Fill the drill with fine soil and firm down gently. Allow 60cm (2′) between rows. Keep moist. Seedlings usually appear in 10-18 days. Harvest: May-September.
Tip: Protect seedlings from birds with twigs or bird scarers. Water well during dry spells. Ideal for deep freezing.
