Description
Easy to grow and requiring less thinning. Perfect for ‘baby’ beets, with great colour and flavour. Excellent source of folate and a good source of potassium.
For the earliest crops sow bolt-resistant varieties under cloches from mid-March, otherwise from April.
Tip: Do not cut the leaves, but twist them off to prevent the colour ‘bleeding.’ Young leaves are also edible and can be cooked like spinach.
